FUPRE Department of Environment Science Admission Requirement

This article is designed to help students who wish to study Environmental Science under the Faculty of Sciences in The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in (FUPRE ) to  carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) in Delta State, Nigeria was established and approved by the Federal Executive Council meeting of 14 March 2007 and admitted its first set of undergraduates in 2008.

The university was established under the Federal Government of Nigeria initiative to build a specialized university in the Niger Delta to produce manpower and expertise for the oil and gas sector.

The National Universities Commission(NUC) approved sharing of facilities between the Petroleum Training Institute Effurun and FUPRE until it moved to its permanent site on development of its main campus at Ugbomro, Uvwie Local Government Area in 2010.

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Environmental Science;

You require; Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Environmental Science under the Faculty of Sciences in the above Universities include;

Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Environmental Science, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require; Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one from Biology, Zoology or Botany

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into (FUPRE) for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of  180 and above in your JAMB result.
