This article is designed to help students who wish to study Computer Science under the Faculty of Sciences in The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in (FUPRE ) to carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.
The Federal University of Petroleum Resources Effurun (FUPRE) in Delta State, Nigeria was established and approved by the Federal Executive Council meeting of 14 March 2007 and admitted its first set of undergraduates in 2008.
The university was established under the Federal Government of Nigeria initiative to build a specialized university in the Niger Delta to produce manpower and expertise for the oil and gas sector.
The National Universities Commission(NUC) approved sharing of facilities between the Petroleum Training Institute Effurun and FUPRE until it moved to its permanent site on development of its main campus at Ugbomro, Uvwie Local Government Area in 2010.

(vii) FED-WUKARI, FUTMINNA, EBSU, LASU require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and one (1) other Science subject.
(viii) UNILAG requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Biology.
(ix) UNIJOS accepts ‘O’ Level credit pass in Further Mathematics in lieu of Mathematics.
(x) UNIBEN requires two (2) Science subjects in addition to Mathematics and Physics.
(xi) RENAISSANCE requires Further Mathematics with Physics or Chemistry.
(xii) AJAYI requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics and any other subject at one (1) sitting or six (6) ‘O’ Level credit passes at two (2) sittings.
xiii) UNILAG Further Mathematics is compulsory. (xiv) CUAB requires five (5) O ’level credit passes in not more than two (2) sittings must include English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics.
(xv) UMYUK requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and any of Biology/Agricultural Science, Computer Studies or Geography at not more than two (2) sittings.

(xxi) DELSU accepts Economics and Geography. (xxii) UNIOSUN requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including Mathematics, English Language, Chemistry, Physics and one (1) other Science subject at one (1) sitting.
(xxiii) ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two subjects among (Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Computer Science/Data Processing).
(xxiv) KASU does not accept Economics and Agricultural Science as Science subjects.
(xxv) NTNU accepts English Language, Mathematics and either Physics or Chemistry and any other two (2) Science subjects.
(xxviii) REDEEMER’S requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, plus two (2) from Chemistry, Biology and Further Mathematics.
(xxix) FUTA requires five (5) SSCE credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/ Agricultural Science.

(lii) RSUST for Computer Science requires Five (5) WASC/SSCE /GCE/ NECO O’Level credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Biology and Economics/Further Maths/Statistics.
(liii) FED-OYE EKITI requires five (5) credits passes at SSC (or its equivalent) including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry plus one other Science subject from Biology or Agriculture.
(liv) MOUNTAIN TOP – for admission into Computer Science first degree programme of the University, candidates are required to possess at least credit level passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any of Biology/Agricultural Science/Economics/Geography in SSCE or its equivalents at not more than two (2) sittings. In addition, candidates must also earn an acceptable pass mark in the UTME and post UTME screening.
(lv) FED-LOKOJA requires five (5) credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two (2) Science subjects from Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and Computer Science.
(lvi) FUPRE requires five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two subjects from Chemistry, Computer Studies, Biology/Agricultural Science or Data Processing/GSM Maintenance. (lxii) KSUSTA requires Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other two (2) Science subjects.

(lxv) FED-KASHERE accepts Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Physics, and any other two relevant Science Subjects from ICT/Computer Studies, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science, Geography and Further Mathematics.
(lxvi) KASU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other Science subjects.
(lxvii) LANDMARK accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any one of the following: Biology, Agricultural Science, Computer science, Data processing, Further Mathematic.
(lxviii) SOSU accepts Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two (2) other science subjects.
(lvii) IAUED requires Credits in English, Mathematics, Physics and any other two from Chemistry, Biology, Health Science, Economics, Geography, Data Processing, Commerce, Technical Drawing.
(lviii) EKSU requires five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science.
lix) FED-WUKARI requires Five (5)Credits at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics and Physics and any wo from the following subjects; Biology, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Geography, Agricultural Science/Animal Husbandry/Fisheries obtained from Senior School Certificate(SSCE), National Examination Council(NECO), National Business and Technical Examination Board(NABTEB) or its equivalent.
(lx) CARITAS requires Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two (2) of the following: Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Agricultural Science.

a) A minimum score of 10 points with two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and Physics.
b) National Diploma (at least Upper Credit) from recognized Polytechnic.
c) Higher National Diploma (at least Lower Credit) in Computer Science from recognized Polytechnic. Diploma in Data Processing is NOT acceptable
(v) UNICAL require Physics as second subject
(vi) BASU requires Physics and Chemistry in addition to UTME requirements.
(vii) AAU and ADSU accept ND (upper credit)/HND (lowercredit) in relevant fields and NCE (merit) in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science
(viii) UNN – Direct Entry into Computer Science is four years but for combined courses is three years.
(ix) UNILORIN accepts ND (Computer Science) at Upper credit level or HND (Lower Credit) in Computer Science. Does not accept Diploma in Data Processing.
(x) EBSU accepts HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively in the relevant fields.
(xi) MAUTECH requires in addition to UTME requirement, two credits in ‘A’ level one of which must be Maths. It also accepts ND in Computer Science (Upper Credit) from recognised institution.
(xii) FUTA accepts:
(a) Two ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics and Physics
(b) National Diploma in Computer Science with at least an Upper Credit.
(c) NCE in Computer Science/Maths, Computer Science/Physics, Maths/Physics with at least Credit Pass in both.
(xiii) NDU accepts NCE (Merit) in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject.
(xiv) UMUDIKE and BOWEN – Same as in Mathematics
(xvi) UNIJOS
(a) For Computer Science requires Physics and accepts ND (Upper credit) in Computer Science/Statistics.
(b) For Library and Information Science requires IJMB passes in at least two subjects, GCE A’ level (in one sitting) with at least four credit passes in GCE, WASC/NECO including English Language or NCE with merit and above in two principal subjects.
(xvii) UNIBEN, in addition to UTME requirements accepts:
(a) ND Upper credit) HND (Lower Credit) in Data Processing/ Computer Science/Statistics or Science Laboratory Technology.
(b) NCE credit in Mathematics and any other Science Subject.
(xviii) AAU accepts ND/HND with credit/upper credit un relevant subjects.

(c) A’ level passes in relevant subjects.
(d) IJMB at acceptable grade levels.
(xxii) UNIJOS does not accept National Diploma in Statistics.
(xxiv) UNIUYO accepts ND/HND in relevant fields plus UTME requirements.
(xv) FUTO requires at least two ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Mathematics and any other Science subject. It also accepts Upper Credit ND/HND in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering. Candidates must in addition meet UTME ‘O’ Level requirements. It does not accept First Degree or NCE.
(xvi) AJAYI requires two ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Studies OR ND Certificate in Computer Studies (Upper Credit) OR two ICT Certificate passes. OR NCE with Distinction/credit in any two of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Computer Studies
(xvii) LASU accepts A’ Level Passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
(xviii) AL-HIKMAH accepts two A’ level passes in Mathematics and Physics and accepts ND/HND (Lower Credit) in Data processing and Computer Science from recognized institution.
(xix) UI accepts :
(a) Two ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics (Pure or Applied) and Physics.
(b) ND/HND Computer Science or any other Mathematics based courses with grade of Upper Credit.
(xx) FUNAAB accepts:
(a) ND (Upper Credit) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics/Electronics Engineering or related fields.
(b) NCE (Credit) in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
(c) Two A’ level credit passes in Computer Science/Mathematics, Computer Science/Physics with at least credit pass in both.
(xxi) CRESCENT accepts:
(a) Two ‘A’ level passes to include Physics and any of Chemistry, Biology
(b) NCE/ND and approved equivalent of at least Upper Credit in relevant fields.
(c) IJMB at acceptable grade levels.
(xxii) UNIOSUN accepts Any two ‘A’ level passes which must include Mathematics and Physics; A minimum of Lower Credit in ND Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
(xxiii) AUN accepts:
(a) AUN accepts ‘A’ level passes chosen from English Language, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Further Mathematics, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Civics, and French.
(b) does not accept credit passes in the following; Agriculture, Food and Nutrition, Home Economics, Home Craft, Home management, Physical Education, Physical and Health Education, Music, Commerce, Accounting, Financial Accounting, Book `Keeping, Islamic History, Religious Studies, Tajweed, Library Studies, Diction, Kiswahili, Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Arabic, Turkish, Study skills.
(c) accepts ICGSE and ‘A’ level Cambridge and does not offer admissions direct to 200 level programs. May transfer credits relevant to it’s major at the discretion of the Dean of school.
(xxiv) KWASU accepts:
(a) Computer Science ND Computer Science at Upper Credit level or HND lower credit level in Computer Science or NCE (Merit) in relevant field.
(b) Library and information Science ND in Library Science at Upper Credit level or NCE (Merit) in relevant field.
(xxv) WESTERN-DEL accepts a) Two ‘A’ Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics.

(xxxi) MCPHERSON two A’ level passes in Mathematics and Physics and accepts ND/HND (Lower Credit) in Data processing and Computer Science from recognized institution, NCE (at least Credit) in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science is acceptable.
(xxxii) CALEB accepts ND at Credit level in Computer Science or Sciences related studies may be considered for admission by direct entry provided they have the UME subjects at one sitting.

(a) National Diploma in Computer Science or Computer Studies, NCE in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics.
(b) HND (in relevant fields-Computer Science, Graphics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical/Electronics).
(c) B.Sc Degree (Natural Science, Physical Science, & Environmental Science).
(xxxiv) NTNU accepts any two A’ level passes in Science subjects, ND/HND (lower credit) or NCE (merit) in relevant fields.
(xxxv) BSU accepts ND (upper credit)/HND (lower credit) in relevant fields and NCE (merit) in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or Computer Science.
(xxxvi) UMYUK accepts National Diploma in Computer Science not below lower credit.NCE (Computer Science and any other from Mathematics or Physics) with a minimum of 9 points. IJMB (Mathematics, Physics and any other science subject) with a minimum of 9 points.
(xxxvii) SOUTHWESTERN accepts:
a. Accept NCE merit in Mathematics.
b. NCE/ND/HND (Credit) in related field.
(xxxviii) KUST accepts ND in Engineering or Mathematics with a minimum of Upper Credit.
(xxxix) UNIABUJA accepts two A level credit passes in Physics and any one of Chemistry, Physics Mathematics or Statistics in that order OR NCE (minimum 10 points) with Credit Passes in Physics and another Science subject OR ND(upper credit) in relevant area.
(xxxxx) EKSU accepts Two (2) A Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics. At least Upper Credit pass in National Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering or Electronics/Electrical Engineering, provided UTME requirement is met
(xxxix) AUGUSTINE requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics or NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
(l) UNIKINGS accepts ‘A’ Level pass in Science subjects including Mathematics and NCE with at least Merit in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject.
(li) MOUNTAIN TOP – Candidates seeking admission by Direct Entry into 200 level Computer Science degree programme of the University must have at least five (5) O’level credits with a minimum of two (2) relevant subjects at Advance level of any approved equivalents.
(lii) PLASU accepts
a) degree in any programme provided the candidate meets the UTME requirements
b) lower credit in relevant programme, with UTME requirements,
c) ND lower credit in relevant programmes, with the UTME requirements.
d) IJMB minimum of seven (7) points with passes in relevant subjects, with the UTME requirement.
e) PLASU does not accept university diplomas and other diplomas not accredited by the relevant accrediting bodies
(liv) EDSU accepts;
a) Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics.
b) NCE with at least Merit in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science subject.
c) OND/HND with credit passes from a recognised institution in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements.
d) IJMB/JUPEB.
(lv) DELSU requires
a) At least two GCE ‘A’ Level passes which must include Mathematics and Physics.
b) A National Diploma with a minimum of upper credit or Higher National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit or a University Diploma with a minimum credit in any of the following;
1)Data Processing
2) Computer Engineering
3)Information System/Information Technology
4) Engineering Technology
5) Mathematics Education/Physics Education/Computer Science Education.
6) Computer Science from Delta State University or any other tertiary Institution recognized by the Senate of Delta State University
c) Minimum of Merit in DELSU Diploma in any of the following in (ii) above.
d) First degree of Delta State University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Delta State University.
e) Credit passes in at least two subjects at the National Certificate of Education (NCE), which must include Computer Science and Mathematics or Physics.
(lvi) FED-GASHUA requires;
a) ND (Upper Credit) and HND (minimum of Lower Credit) in computer Science and other relevant course Economics/Geography.
b)NCE Merit and above in Mathematics and one other Science or Social Science Subject, while OND/ND (Lower credit) are admitted into 100 Level.
c) IJMB 6 points and above are admitted into 200 Level.
d)Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics.
(lvii) AAUA requires:
a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics
b) Diploma in Data Processing with at least a Merit pass from a recognized University.
c) ND/HND (Upper Credit) in Data Processing, Engineering Mathematics and Electrical Electronics
d) NCE with at least Credit pass in Mathematics, Computer Science and any other Science or Social Science subject.
(lviii) FED-DUTSE requires ND/IJMB/NCE Certificate in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and Electrical Electronics Engineering with
a) minimum 8 points
b) minimum Lower Credit from Institution recognised by Government and accredited by NBTE.
(lix) FED-OYE EKITI requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics in Science subjects including Mathematics.
(lx) FUPRE requires two (2) A Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics.
(lxi) FED-WUKARI – Direct Entry Candidates must obtain at least two A/ Level passes in Science Subjects at GCE A/L/ IJMB/ Advanced NATEB or at least a merit pass at NCE in Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics or at least a Credit in OND/HND in ICT, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and any relevant field. Candidate must also satisfy the O/L requirements for admission.
(lxii) CARITAS accepts;
a) Bachelor’s Degree in one (1) of Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics and Chemistry.
b) NCE/ND/HND Lower credit in one (1) of Mathematics, Statistics, Physics and Chemistry.
c) GCE A’Level/IJMB/JUPEB Passes in Mathematics or Physics plus one other science subject.
(lxiv) FED-LOKOJA requires; In addition to meeting the UTME Entry Requirements; 2 A’ Level Passes in Mathematics & any one of Physics, Chemistry or Biology/Zoology/Botany; IJMB minimum of 9 points with passes in relevant subjects; NCE Credit pass in Credit pass in Computer Science/Mathematics/Computer Studies & any other relevant subject combination; ND Upper credit in Upper Credit in Computer Science; HND Lower credit in Upper Credit in Computer Science.
(lxv) KSUSTA accepts Two (2) A Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics. NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject.
(lxvi) ABU accepts Two ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in Mathematics and any one of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, Geology and Computer. NCE Mathematics/Computer Science and any of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography and Geology. ND in Computer Science with Upper Credit in addition to O/L requirements. ABU Diploma in Computer Science with at least MERIT Grade.
(lxvii) UNIPORT accepts Two (2) A/level GCE or HSC or IJMB or JUPEB passes in Mathematics and any one of Physics, Chemistry or Biology including UTME entry requirements
(lxviii) FED-LAFIA accepts In addition to UTME requirements, DE candidates must have any of the following: IJMB: Minimum of 9 points in Biology, Chemistry Mathematics and Physics. GCE: A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or Biology; ND: lower credit in Computer Science and any other relevant science courses /HND. NCE: At least Merit pass in Computer Science major.
(lxix) FED-KASHERE accepts ND/NCE in Computer Science/Mathematics with at least Lower Credit pass and not below 9 points with any of Mathematics (for Comp. Sci. and vice versa) Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography or credit passes in IJMB with Mathematics and Physics as core and any other subject from Chemistry, Biology and Geography with minimum of 9 points.
(lxx) KASU accepts Two ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics. ND/HND/ NCE merit/upper credit in related fields. IJMB with 7 points and above in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements.
(lxxi) LANDMARK accepts Two (2) A Level passes in science subjects including Mathematics. NCE merit in Mathematics and one (1) other Science or Social Science subject. (lxxii) RSUST accepts Admission to year III; HND (Upper Credit) in relevant discipline. Admission to Year II; HND (Lower Credit) in relevant discipline. OND/ND (Upper Credit) in relevant discipline. At least two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Mathematics and Physics. In addition, all such candidates above must also satisfy the UME entry requirements
All candidates interested in getting admitted into (FUPRE) for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of 180 and above in your JAMB result.
