FUKASHERE Department of History and Diplomatic Studies Admission Requirement

This article is designed to help students who wish to study History and Diplomatic Studies under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities  in The Federal University, Kashere  as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in (FUKASHERE)  to  carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

Federal University, Kashere is located in Gombe state and was established by the deferral government of Nigeria in 2011 to operate as a federal university. . The university has no religious affiliation and accepts students from different parts of the country.  Federal University, Kashere courses includes bachelors degree programs in Education, agriculture, science and socials sciences. The university has a slightly competitive admission process and provides students with various facilities like hostels, college buildings

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study History and Diplomatic Studies;

You require;

Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Geography, Government/History.


(i) CHRISTOPHER requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings to include English Language, History/Government.

(ii) IAUED: Candidates must pass History or Government, English language, Mathematics. Candidates are required to pass at least 2 other subjects from the Humanities, social sciences and vocational or the sciences.

(iii) FUWUKARI requires Five (5) Credits at not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, History/Government/Civic Education and any other Two subjects from Arts or Humanities or Social Sciences obtained at Senior School Certificate(SSCE), GCE, National Examination Council(NECO), National Business and Technical Examination Board(NABTEB) or its equivalent.

(iv) FUK requires Five credit passes at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, History /Government or both, and two/any other subject(s) from Arts or Social Science or both. Note that Civic Education can be accepted as a Social Science.

(v) RSUST requires Five (5) WASC/GCE/SSCE/NECO ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) other Social Science subjects



In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study History and Diplomatic Studies under the Faculty of Arts & Humanities in the above Universities include;

History/Government and any other two (2) subjects from Arts and Social Sciences


(I) IAUED requires English language, history or Government, CRS, and any other subject in the Humanities and social sciences.

(ii) FUWUKARI requires History/ Government, any two of the following subjects: CRK/IRK, Literature/Econs/Geography/Civic Education.

(iii) FUK requires History and any two of IRS, CRS, Literature in English, French, Geography, Economics, Government, Hausa and Yoruba.

(iv) RSUST requires English Language, Literature in English, Government and Christian Religious Knowledge



These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study History and Diplomatic Studies, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ‘A’ level passes/NCE (upper credit) in History/ Government and any other related subject.


(i) CHRISTOPHER accepts HND/ND credit or NCE credit in the relevant subjects/programme

(ii) MCU accepts:
a) NCE merit in History/ Government/Social Studies.
b) ND upper credit in Mass Communication/Journalism, History, Public Administration, Social Works, English & Communication, and Linguistics Studies.
c) JUPEB/IJMB ‘A’ Level or its equivalent in related subjects.

(iii) IAUED: Possession of NCE or National Diploma with at least a merit in addition to the following O’ level subjects: History or Government, English language, Mathematics. Candidates are required to pass at least 2 other subjects from the Humanities, social sciences and vocational or the sciences.

(iv) FUWUKARI accepts Two A’ level passes in GCE/IJMB/NABTEB or its equivalent in relevant subjects one of which must be History/Government/Civic Education or at least a Credit at OND /HND. Candidates must also satisfy the O ’level requirements of Five (5) subjects at credit level, at not more than two sittings. Including English language and Mathematics.

(v) FUK accepts Two ‘A’ Level credit passes in History and any other related subject or NCE/ND/Specialised Diploma with minimum of credit passes in relevant subjects.

(vi) RSUST accepts; Admission into Year Ill. Degree relevant to the Programme HND (Upper Credit) relevant to the Programme from a recognized Institution. Admission to Year II.OND/ND (Upper Credit) relevant to the Programme. HND (Lower Credit) relevant to the Programme. In addition ,all such candidates above must also satisfy the U.M.E. entry requirements.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into FUKASHERE for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of  180 and above in your JAMB result.
