This is to inform all Ebonyi State University Pre-Degree Aspirants that the pre-degree admission form is now on sale.


The Pre-Degree school prepares candidates for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board Examination (JAMB/UTME).

Successful applicants in the EBSU Pre-Degree internal test (with a national minimum UTME score) are eligible for consideration for admission into any EBSU main degree program.

The program is also a remedial program for applicants preparing for O’Level exams. However, it does not replace the O’Level required for main course entry.

Furthermore, the EBSU Pre-Degree Programme provides students with intense training in Basic Information and Communication Technology (ICT).


Scope and Structure of the Program

The Pre-Degree School (PDS) at EBSU is structured to prepare candidates for key examinations through rigorous lectures and tutorials. These include:

  • Joint Admission and Matriculation (JAMB/UTME).
  • O’ Level Examinations (SSCE NECO, etc.).

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for the Pre-Degree Programme:

  • Candidates must have five (5) credits in GCE O’ Level, SSCE, or NECO at least two sittings.
  • Candidates who have attempted SSCE or NECO O’ Level examinations can apply to prepare them for these exams.

Note: Admission to main degree programs post-Pre-Degree is contingent on meeting O’ Level requirements.

Program Duration

  • The program is planned for one academic year, which must last at least ten (10) calendar months.


A candidate must have five (5) credits in GCE O’Level, NECO, or SSCE at no more than two sittings to be eligible for admission.
