Big Brother Titans Housemates | The Pioneering 20

2023 just started, and it already looks like an exciting year. The entertainment industry is set for a scintillating experience full of thrills and intrigues in the form of Big Brother Titans.

This novel idea is the fusion of the Nigerian and South African versions of the well-watched Big Brother franchise. It is already building enthusiasm among fans and staunch followers of the franchise. 

The Big Brother Titans began airing its first season this month, with its premiere on 15th January. 

About Big Brother Titans

As usual, the Big Brother Titans’ housemates are lodged in an isolated but luxurious house for 72 days, competing to avoid eviction from the show. The cash prize for this edition is $100 000.

This season has Ebuka Obi-Uchendu from Nigeria and Lawrence Maleka from South Africa as co-hosts, with Flutterwave, Lotto Star, and Bamboo as some of the official sponsors.

The premiere revealed such beautiful scenery. The house where the contestants are lodged is located in South Africa, close to the headquarters of Multichoice company, the organizers of the franchise. 

The season will be aired on DSTV channel 198 and GOTV channel 29.

The Housemates of Big Brother Titans

This season of Big Brother Titans consists of 20 contestants called housemates. They were drawn equally from Nigeria and South Africa and pooled from auditions between 6th October – 22nd October 2023. 

Prospective candidates were asked to make a 2-minute video of themselves revealing their interest in being on the show.

The premiere edition on 15th January showed that these contestants, aged between 21-31 years, are a bundle of drama and intrigue.

Here is some current information on all 20 Big Brother titans’ housemates before the suspense unfolds:

Blaqboi

Blackboi is a 26-year-old Nigerian from Plateau State. He is a content creator as well as an aspiring filmmaker. 

In his video, he described himself as cool, calm, and level-headed. He revealed that he is street smart and confident, a likely contender for the grand prize.

Ebubu

Ebubu is a 28-year-old actor and model from Anambra State, Nigeria, who is interested in learning about new cultures. 

He described himself as open-minded as well as a person who is determined, resilient, funny, and calm.

Ipeleng

Ipeleng is our first South African female on the list. She is 24 years old and from Gauteng province in northeastern South Africa.

She is a law student and content creator who describes herself as shy and has a great sense of humor. She also professed a deep respect for her parents.

Jaypee

Jaypee is a nurse and model from Lagos State, Nigeria. She is 26 years old. She describes herself as open-minded, confident in flirting, and will not shy away from an opportunity to cuddle.

There is no dull moment with her around due to her vivacious personality.

Jenni O

Jenni O is one of the 10 Nigerians on this first season of Big Brother Titans. Though from Imo State, she now resides in the United States. She is a health and safety worker.

Even though she is 24 years old, she describes herself as intimidating yet emotional. She likes to talk spontaneously with no time for nonsense. Jenni O also claims the title of chef for Big Brother Titans.

Juicy Jay

Juicy Jay (Siya Juicy) was born in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa. He is a 24-year-old semi-professional rugby player. He shows off an incredible physique and is very energetic and competitive.

He describes himself as a party lover who likes mingling and living on the edge. Though a proud Xhosa man, he professed a liking for Nigerian food.

Justin

Justin is also from South Africa, East London, to be precise. He is a photographer and loves to laugh a lot. 

He has a relaxed and layback personality, describing himself as a happy-go-lucky person.

The 21-year-old content creator, who describes himself as a responsible friend, aims to win the grand prize of Big Brother Titans for his city.

Kanaga Jnr

This 23-year-old Nigerian from Abia State is one of the housemates in this season of Big Brother Titans. He is a model and aspiring actor. 

Claiming to be the life of the party, he is expressive, charming, yet calm. Kanaga Jnr is a young and sensitive man who loves women older than him.

Khosi

This 25-year-old journalist was the first South African to be revealed during the season’s premiere. She said she came to the show for quick fame and the grand prize.

She is also a combination of beauty and brains. She is also talkative, open-minded, and adventurous. She is also excited about trying and learning how to prepare Nigerian dishes.

Lukay

Lukay is the oldest housemate (31 years old). He is a sales executive from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Though optimistic about winning the prize money, Lukay claims he has yet to develop a strategy for winning.

He is a traditionalist, very candid yet empathetic. He even moved back to his hometown to reconnect with his parents. 

Marvin

The Big Brother Titan house seems full of models, and Marvin is one of them. He is 28 years old and from Port Harcourt in Nigeria, though he currently resides in the United States. 

He is also a chemical engineer and is set to bring lots of comedy. He describes himself as a cute, intelligent guy who fiercely protects those he loves. 

Mmeli

Tall, dark, and handsome, Mmeli is one of the South Africans on this season of Big Brother Titans competing for the grand prize.

The 24-year-old says he is pretty devoted to his bachelor’s status, though he does not hold back on partying.

He is also street-smart, possesses a naughty streak, and is quite fearless. Furthermore, he gives no thought to want others may think about him.

Nana

Nana is a 22-year-old entrepreneur from Kaduna State, Nigeria. She is soft-spoken and gives off a shy vibe, although “still waters running deep” may be her case.

She is excited about learning South African culture and also the Amiapiano dance.

Nelisa

Nelisa is 25 years old and hails from Johannesburg, South Africa. She is likely but very fragile. As she has her eyes on the prize money, she describes herself as a small dynamite package.

Olivia

An aspiring actress from Imo State, Nigeria, Olivia is one Big Brother Titan housemate that will thrill fans and viewers. 

Being a landowner in Lekki, she will definitely give off her rich vibe. Olivia is very bold and glamorous with a little streak of mischief.

She is 22 years old.

Thabang

Of course, Thabang is a South African. He is sport-analyst from Soweto, although he is passionate about modeling and entertainment.

 The 21 year- old knows his game, is level-headed, and focuses on his goals. Being in touch with his emotion, he does not shy away from having fun.

Tsatsii

Tsatsii is a 24-year-old South African bio-medical student from Pretoria. She enjoys cooking and dancing. Being very sympathetic, she readily dispenses advice.

Yaya

Yaya is a plus-size model and presenter who enjoys lounging in the pool. Guess what? She is also talkative.

With a big and bold personality, the 30-year-old South African is not afraid of being vulnerable and is quite adventurous. She also claims to enjoy cuddling and cooking.

Yemi Cregx

Yemi Cregx was the first Nigerian that was unveiled on the season premiere. The 30-year-old Nigerian is a fashion influencer, content creator, and actor.

Yemi Cregx is confident and very outgoing. His strategy for winning the cash prize is to be at the top of all the competitions. 

Yvonne

She was the last contestant to be unveiled during the premiere. She is a 28 year- old content creator, skincare enthusiast, and model. She is also from Akwa Ibom, Nigeria.

She describes herself as charismatic and daring. However, she does not like overly loud people.

Events Lined up for Big Brother Titans Housemates

The premiere on 15th January 2023 was grandeur and featured performances from notable artists such as D’banj, the “Koko master.”

The housemates are expected to engage in fun activities such as Biggie’s diary sessions, Friday night parties, Head of House games, and the suspense-filled Sunday eviction nights.

Conclusion 

The first season of Big Brother Titans is set to be full of intrigue and drama, primarily because of the mix of two cultures. Viewers expect cliques and alliances to be formed across borders.
