ADSU Department of Geography Admission Requirement

This article is designed to help students who wish to study Geography under the Faculty of Sciences in Adamawa State University  as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in ADSU to  carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Geography;

You require;

Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two (2) Science subjects.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

 

(i)  UI  requires five (5) or six (6) ‘O’ level credit passes at one(1) or two (2) sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) other Science subjects.

(ii) GSU accepts Economics.

(iii)  UMYUK   Science Option- five (5) ‘ O’ level credit passes or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) of Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Agricultural Science.    Social Science Option- five (5) ‘ O’ level credit passes or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics, Geography, and any two (2) of Government, Economics, Commerce and Accounting.

(iv)  ABU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Geography, Biology and any other Science subjects.

(v) KASU only accepts among Chemistry, Biology or Physics as the other two (2) Science subjects

(vi) FUTMINNA requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Geography and any one (1) of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Economics, Government

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Geography under the Faculty of Sciences in the above Universities include;

Geography and any two (2) of Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Agricultural Science
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

(i)  UI requires Mathematics / Biology, Chemistry / Physics, Further Mathematics or Geography.

(ii)  ABU requires Geography, Biology and any other Science subject.

(iii) UMYUK requires Geography and any other two (2) Science subjects. For Social Science they require Geography and any other two (2) Social Science subjects.

(iv) ABU requires Use of English, Geography, Biology and any other science subject (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Agricultural Science and Economics).

(v) KASU requires Geography and two other Science subjects that may include Agric. Science.

DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Geography, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and one (1) other science subject

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

(i)  FUTMINNA accepts Geography and Mathematics/Physics Physics preferred.

(ii)  FUTMINNA accepts NCE merit, ND/HND upper or lower credit Meteorology.

(iii) BUK does not accept Economics

(iv)  GSU accepts Economics and Government.

(v)  UMYUK accepts a minimum of 9 points in IJMB/HSC/GCE ‘A’ Level/NCE in relevant subjects. All candidates must have Geography.

(vi) UI accepts two (2) ‘A’ level subjects including Geography and any other Science subject for Geography

(vii) KASU accepts Two ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and any one of Economics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. ND/HND/NCE Geography Lower Credit in addition to ‘O’ Level requirements and IJMB with 7 Points

(viii) ABU accepts Two ‘A’ level/IJMB passes which must include Geography and any other science subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Agricultural Science and Economics) in addition to O/L requirements.

JAMB Score

All candidates interested in getting admitted into ADSU for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of  180 and above in your JAMB result.
