This article is designed to help students who wish to study Business Administration under the Faculty of Administration in The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) as it is very important for all candidates who wish to apply for any of the courses offered in (UNIMAID) to  carefully confirm and see if the course they Selected is offered in the institution before registering for JAMB.

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) is a Federal higher institution located in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State in northeast Nigeria. The university was created by the federal government of Nigeria in 1975, with the intention of its becoming one of the country’s principal higher-education institutions.

O’LEVEL SUBJECT COMBINATION

The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Business Administration;

You require;

Five (5) SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, plus any two (2) of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography, and Statistics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

(i) (i) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Commerce, Accounting, Geography, and Government.

(ii) ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Economics, Mathematics and any other two (2) Subjects.

(iii) UNIABUJA and COOU accept Commerce In lieu of Economics

(iv) RSUST – Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) other subjects. For NBC holders, the other two (2) relevant subjects could be from any of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice and Secretarial Duties.

(v) UNILAG requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics, and any two (2) of Financial Accounting, Government, Geography, CRS/IS, Business Management.

(vi) UNIPORT requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Accounting (Financial/Business), Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics .

(vii) UNIZIK accepts a pass in Economics

(viii) UNIZIK accepts English Language, Mathematics and any three (3) relevant subjects.

(ix)  UNN – Five (5) SSC credit passes to include: English Language, Mathematics and any other subjects. For NBC, the other two (2) relevant subjects could be from any of the following; Accounting, Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice and Economics.

(x) LCU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce and other two (2) subjects.

(xi) FUK requires Five credit passes at SSCE( or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two from Commerce, Accounting, Office Practice, Marketing, ICT, Civic Education, Government and Geography.

(xii) DELSU requires five (5) credits at SSC ‘O’ Level or its equivalent obtained at not more than two (2) sittings which must include English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, one Social Science subject and any other subject in Arts, Science and Social Science.

(xiii) FUOYE requires five (5) SSC credit including English, Mathematics, Economics, plus any two (2) of Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geog, and Statistics.

JAMB SUBJECT COMBINATION

In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Business Administration under the Faculty of Administration in the above Universities include;

Mathematics, Economics and one (1) other subject.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

(i) ABU requires Use of English, Economics, mathematics and any Management or Social Science Subject.

(ii) RSUST: Mathematics, Economics plus any Social Science subject.

(iii) FUDMA requires Five ‘O’ level Credits to include: English Language, Mathematics Economics/Entrepreneurship/Commerce/Marketing and any two subjects.

(iv) UNILAG requires Mathematics, Economics and any one (1) subject from Science, Social Science or Arts.

(vi) OOU – the third (3rd) subject should be a Social Science subject.

(vii) UNIZIK- Economics is not compulsory.

(viii) UNN and COOU  – Mathematics, Economics, plus any one (1) of Government and Geography

(ix) DELSU requires Mathematics, Economics and any other Social Science subject.

(x) UNIMAID requires Mathematics, any of Principles of Accounting/Commerce/Economics and any other Social Science subject.

(x) UNIPORT requires Mathematics, Economics and any other subject from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Accounting (Financial/Business), Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics.

(xi) FUOYE requires Mathematics, Economics and one other subject.

(xii) FUK requires Mathematics Economics/Commerce and any of Accounting, Government and Geography

In DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENT

These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Business Administration, if you don’t intend to use UTME.

You require;

Two (2) ‘A’ level passes chosen from Economics, Accounts, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

(i) AAUA accepts ND upper credit in relevant programmes or HND lower credit plus the UTME requirements.

(ii) AAUA requires ‘A’ Level pass in Economics or Business Management.

(iii) ABU accepts  Two ‘A’ Level / IJMB passes in Management/Social Science Subjects one of which must be Economics. A Minimum Merit in ABU Diploma in Insurance, Management, Banking or Accounting.

(iv) FUK accepts Two ‘A’ Level credit passes in Economics, Accounting, Management or ND/NCE with credit passes in relevant subjects.

(v) UNIABUJA accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Economics, Commerce; NCE or ND at upper credit level or ten (10) points in IJMB in relevant subjects in addition to the ‘O’ Level requirements.

(vii) ESUT accepts ND in relevant programmes within the Faculty into 200 level in addition to the UTME requirements.

(viii) UNIJOS accepts ND lower credit, DELSU and BAYERO (upper credit) in relevant programmes

(ix)  UNILAGOS requires Very good passes in three (3) JUPEB/’A’ Level subjects: Economics and any two (2) of Financial Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography and Mathematics.

(x) MCU accepts;
(a) JUPEB/IJMB/ATS (Final) of ICAN or approved equivalent in related programmes.
(b) AIB or other professional qualifications in relevant programmes.

(xi) COOU accept ND lower credit, AIB and Degree/HND in relevant programmes. .

(xii)  NSUT accepts HND at lower credit, AIB or other Professional qualifications in relevant programmes or IJMB in relevant subjects not below ten (10) points.

(xiii)  OOU accepts NCE/ND/HND.

(xiv) OOU, and UNIUYO –Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Accounting, Economics, Management, Mathematics, Geography and Statistics.
(xv).  UNIPORT accepts Two (2) Advanced level GCE or HSC or JUPEB or IJMB passes in Mathematics and at least one (1) of Economics, Statistics, Accounts including UTME entry requirements.OND (upper credit) or HND (Merit Pass) in Business Education, Business Studies, Business Administration, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply, Office Management, Secretarial Administration, Public Business Studies or Business Studies from any recognised institution, including UTME entry requirements.NCE with at least credit passes in Business Education, Business Studies, Business Administration, Marketing, Purchasing and Supply, Office Management, Secretarial Administration, Public Business Studies or Business Studies from any recognised institution including UTME entry requirements

(xvi) RSUST and EKSU – Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government and Geography.

(xvii) UDUSOK – as applicable to Accounting.

(xviii) UNIZIK accepts Mathematics but not Geography. Requires applicants to possess the UTME requirements.

(xix) UNN accepts a) AIB or other Professional qualifications and HND in relevant programmes. b) NCE/ND

(xx) UNN requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Economics and any other subject.

(xxi) UNIUYO accepts HND lower credit, ND upper credit in relevant programmes.

(xxii) WELLSPRING accepts ND, NCE, IJMB, NABTEB ‘A’ Level, HND passes at credit/lower credit level in relevant subjects/programmes in addition to the ‘O’ Level requirements.

(xxii)  DELSU requires;
(a) GCE ‘A’ Level or HSC pass in Management, Economics and at least one other  subject.
(b) HND or ND with a grade not lower than upper credit.
(c) Foundation/Intermediate Examination passes of recognized professional  bodies such as Chartered Institute Management of Nigeria (CIMN), Chartered Institute Marketing of Nigeria (CIMN).

(xxiv) FUOYE requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Economics, Accounts, Business Management, Government, Geography or Statistics.

All candidates interested in getting admitted into (UNIMAID for the 2019/2020 session, should know that to be eligible for the screening, you must have score a minimum of  160 and above in your JAMB result.
