WAEC GCE Result 2019 (Aug/Sep 2nd Series Exam)

We are pleased to inform the general public and all candidates that participated in the 2019 August/September West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE  for Private Candidates (popularly known as WAEC GCE) that their results are now available online and is accessible from the WAEC official result checking website.

How to Check WAEC GCE Result.

  1. Go to WAEC result checking portal @ www.waecdirect.org.
  2. Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number.  (This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789)
  3. Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2019
  4. Select the Type of Examination  i.e. PRIVATE CANDIDATE RESULT
  5. Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
  6. Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card
  7. Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up.

NOTE: The result checker PIN and Serial Number needed to check your result online is contained on your Smart Identity Card used during the conduct of the examination

How to Check WAEC GCE Nov/Dec Result via SMS.

In case you want to check your 2019 WAEC GCE result via sms, use the short code format below:

WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear To short-code 32327 (MTN, Airtel & Glo subscribers)

For example -: WAEC*4250101001*123456789012*2013

Note: Ensure you adhere strictly to the format above. There should be no space in the message.

Wait for your result to be delivered to your phone via SMS. (SMS Cost N30 Only)

Note: you can only use your result checker 5 times, so be wise!

    The West Africa Examination Council, WAEC will released in a month from now. West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, recording mass failure in Mathematics, English Language and chemistry.

    Announcing the results, Monday, at WAEC office, Yaba, the Head of National Office, WAEC, Mr. Patrick Ehidiamen Areghan said: “A total of 529,425 candidates, representing 31.28%, obtained credits in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.”

    He noted that when compared to the 2020 and 2021 May/June WASSCE diets, there was marginal decline in the performance of candidates as 38: 81 per cent was recorded in 2019 and 46.57 per cent is on record in 2020.

    The results of 145,795 candidates, representing 8.61%, are being withheld in connection with various types of examination malpractice said, “The cases are being investigated and the reports of the investigations will be presented in November to the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC).”

    In addition, he stated that 1,148,262 candidates, representing 67.84 %, obtained credits and above in 4 subjects, while 1,293,389 candidates, representing 76.42%, obtained credits and above in 3 subjects.
