The Governor of Benue State – Samuel Ortom is pleading with the Federal Government of Nigeria to come handle the current situation that is going on in his state. He said “There are issues in my state especially the invasion of herdsmen in one of my local government area- Agatu. While we are making our own efforts to ensure that we maintain peace and order, i thought it was important to also brief the Presidency.

“Right now as i speak to you, several settlements have been razed down and undisclosed number of people are killed and my people are refugees all over the place. I cannot sit back in Benue State when such things is happening”.

He went further to say “But what i have been telling our people is that we need a lasting solutions. We must learn to live with one another. The herdsmen must appreciate that the farmers lives on their farmings and the farmers must appreciate that the herdsmen lives on his Cattle.
