It’s very obvious that the “Relationship” between Kanye West and his business partner Nike has become sour and they are throwing punches on themselves via their Twitter handle.
Both pairs took the grudge to Twitter to express themselves.
Kanye West released a track on new year’s eve and he titled it “Facts”. The track explained everything about his facts on Nike, the brand that was working with him on his sneakers line, before he broke ties with them and headed for Adidas last year.
When interviewed by Angie Martinez on Hot 97, Yezzy said Nike tried to play a smart game on him before he removed the plug, offering a double collections annually and making more money out of it. But his demand wasn’t met and he decided to break ties with them.
These were Kanye’s words:
” I said i need royalties. It’s not even like i have a joint venture. At least give me some royalties. Michael Jordan has 5 percent and that business is $2 billion. He makes a 100 million dollars a year of 5 percent royalties. Yezzy said. “Nike told me, ‘We can’t give royaltie.
Nike couldn’t met Yezzy’s demands, so he left for Adidas to do partnership with them on his Yezzy’s brand (Sneakers).
Kanye lamented that ” The old me without a child would have accepted Nike’s offer because i love and appreciate Nike a lot. But the new Kanye with a daughter, took the Adidas offer because i have royalties and at he same time, i still have to provide for my family”.
But come to think of it, – i think Kanye West is so right about him dumping Nike for Adidas because business is business and in business everyone wants a more profitable business and nobody gets satisfied in making more money in this life.
And secondly, Kanye has got some responsibilities now. He has a wife and daughter and he’s also expecting his second child, which is to say he needs more money in his bank account.
He need royalties, just like others and i don’t think he’s being greedy. He’s only asking for his Rights.
